Website Improvement Case Study
In October 2008, a disillusioned Trevor and Lesley Pickard approached Monkeydevil with regard to the online shop set up for their Antiques business, Sherbrook Selectables.
Like many people they had paid a substantial amount of money to a web developer only to find that their website appeared almost invisible to all major search engines. Specifically, they were concerned that none of the images on their website were being found on Google's image search. This was particularly important to them because in the antiques business people want to be able to assess the quality of an item, and often use image searches to locate potential purchases.
After making a number of changes to the existing code that generated their catalogue website, Monkeydevil managed to get the images from their site registering with Google. Better still, after two years of never making a sale via their website, Trevor and Lesley now report that they are regularly selling items via the site.
